Author Notes

So, yes, I managed to get myself a London based Literary Agent on the back of these! It was a good thing, and it taught me a few invaluable lessons. Ultimately, though, I didn’t like how constricting it was. So I fired them, and went it alone. I don’t regret the decision a decade on.

I have freedom to write what I want, how I want. There are no rules.

Therein lies my problem with these two volumes. I was trying to write commercially. Every edit through Agent or Publisher was geared towards commercial appeal. Knee-jerk reactions, that had me undoing something I’d just done, and vice versa. To the point that I didn’t like the resulting books.

Hence their unavailability.

What are they about? A blind record collecting guy, who befriends a police detective, and they solve crimes together by utilising one another’s unique talents.

Everything can be viewed as stepping stones, and the entire experience of writing, editing, and working on these novels led me on. I wouldn’t change a thing.
